Method 1: Use a String or Paper Strip

What you’ll need:
• A piece of string, thin ribbon, or paper
• A pen or marker
• A ruler (preferably in millimetres)

Steps:
1. Cut a piece of string or paper to about 3 inches in length.
2. Wrap it snugly around the base of the finger you plan to wear the ring on.
3. Mark the point where the ends overlap.
4. Lay the string flat and measure the marked section with a ruler.
5. Use a size conversion chart (we’ll provide one below) to find your ring size based on the measurement in millimetres.

Tip: Measure at the end of the day when your fingers are slightly larger for a more accurate fit. Avoid measuring when your hands are cold, as fingers tend to shrink.

Method 2: Print & Use a Ring Sizer

Steps:
1. Print out our ring sizer tool (make sure it’s scaled correctly by checking with a ruler).
2. Cut out the sizer and insert the pointed end through the slit.
3. Wrap it around your finger and pull until it fits snugly.
4. The number that aligns with the slit is your ring size

If your size falls between two numbers, consider choosing a quarter size for a more precise fit.

Method 3: Measure a Ring You Already Own

Steps:
1. Find a ring that fits the finger you’re buying for.
2. Place it on a printed sizing guide and match the inside edge to the circle that fits best.
3. If it falls between two sizes, go for a quarter size in between.

Good to Know

• These at-home methods are great for getting close to your true size, but they aren’t always 100% precise.
• For the perfect fit, we recommend visiting a jeweller store when possible.

Secretly Discovering Their Ring Size

Planning the perfect surprise proposal? We know how important it is to keep the moment magical—without tipping them off! Don’t worry, it’s totally possible to find out their ring size without giving away your big plans. Here are some discreet and clever ways to figure it out:

1. Get help from their inner circle
Close friends or family members might already know their ring size. If not, they could casually take them “window shopping” for fun and report back to you.

2. Sneak a ring for reference
Borrow a ring they wear on their ring finger—but make sure it’s one they won’t miss for a day or two. Even if it’s worn on a different finger, it’ll still give us a good starting point.

3. Trace it quietly
If you can’t take the ring, try tracing it! Use a pencil and paper to draw the inside and outside edges of the ring. We can use this to estimate their size.

4. Use your own hand as a guide
Compare their fingers to yours. For example, does your pinky match their ring finger? It’s not exact science, but it’s surprisingly helpful for narrowing it down.

5. Just ask (if you can!)
If your partner is already expecting a proposal, consider asking for their size directly. It won’t ruin the surprise—they still won’t know the design, timing, or how you’ll pop the question!
